This colorful shot by Dan showcases some Las Vegas style fun. The textures on the chips really jump out amongst the assorted items.

Your move

Chris has captured four elegant pewter chess pieces in amazing detail. The processing, however, really makes the shot because of the great sepia tone and light-colored vignetting.

circle suit

The composition on this Mah Jong piece captured by Jo is simply lovely.  However, what attracted me most to the shot was the beautiful green background she used to make the white of the piece stand out so nicely.

Gunnera leaf detail, originally uploaded by An Old Barbie Doll.

Barbie had several great shots this week, but this was one of the best for Friday. Her macro of a leaf creates valleys and hills with great focus and detail.

Sad Poinsettia

This shot is one of simple though tatty beauty. The black background really makes the greens, browns and white pop in this shot of a dying poinsettia leaf by Ken.

Stranded on Planet Suburbia, originally uploaded by JD Hancock.

JD has been greatly amusing the group with his storm trooper shots, but the processing on this particular one is fabulous. The planet panorama he created through Photoshop makes a great Wild Wednesday shot.

The pea is dead, long live the broccoli., originally uploaded by Suzedge.

Suzie began the week with two great shots of peas, and then for Tuesday she moved on to the much more textured. The simplicity of the white background and white dish help highlight the great green texture of the broccoli.

green on green

I love how the light shines through this money plant seed pod.  Rhonda also managed to capture an amazingly tiny spider in the shot, too!

Simply green week 43

Simply green, originally uploaded by Lunasdal.

Fiona captured a beautiful and simple bit of nature in this shot. I love the perfect drops hidden between two green leaves. The depth of field in the shot not only showcases the water droplets but the texture of the supporting leaf as well.

ulster daffies

There’s nothing quite like a field of flowers, and Julie G.’s spring daffodil shot is no exception. The beautiful yellow flowers and green leaves in the foreground are set off nicely by the blue of the water and sky in the background.
